Since the beginning of the pandemic, I had been working at Wicksteed Park as a Creative Designer creating graphics, illustrations, characters and themed designs for rides and attractions. To work as a Creative Designer at Wicksteed Park has certainly been appreciated during these difficult times.
Working closely with a very small production team of skilled carpenters, multi skilled security guards, amazing ride technicians and dedicated volunteers has been a great experience and one I will never forget.
When I was introduced to what is known as the ‘Thrill Zone’ during a very cold start to Spring, this particular area of the park looked like something from the apocalypse or a set from ‘The Walking Dead’.
Myself, the production team and the volunteers faced the challenge to bring life back to the Thrill Zone in just 4 weeks. One of the biggest challenges in the Thrill Zone was to breathe life back to the 'Pinfari' Roller coaster, now called 'Dinosaur Valley'.
